The plague doctor's beaked mask was stuffed with herbs in the belief it would filter out disease. It did not work, but it produced one of the most unsettling silhouettes in medical history, and this figure leans into it completely.

He sits hunched over an open book with a lantern beside him, mid study, robes pooling around the base. The pages are legible, the lantern has a tiny sculpted frame, and the whole thing is painted in muted greys and blues so it reads like an old engraving brought into three dimensions.
