Anubis Seated On His Throne

Anubis weighed the heart against a feather and decided what came next, which is a heavy job for anyone. Here he takes it sitting down, enthroned with a crook across his lap and the great black jackal head turned slightly, as if you have just walked in.

It is the largest piece in this group and reads that way on a shelf. The throne is carved with hieroglyphs on every face, and the gold and lapis tones on his collar and headcloth are painted by hand over the bronze.
