Art Nouveau Bird And Iris Dish

A shallow bronze dish shaped like a single curved leaf, with a blue tit perched on the rim and iris flowers climbing the edge beside him. It is pure Art Nouveau: everything taken from nature, nothing symmetrical.

At 10 1/2 inches across it is big enough to be useful rather than ornamental. Keys and post by the front door, rings and a watch on a dresser, or jewellery on a dressing table. The bird sits high enough that nothing slides over him.
